Checking in...
I watched this fantastic lightning storm that was a few miles away last night. I have this great view from the 6th floor, and I can see for miles. It wasn't raining or anything where I was, so the storm was juxtaposed over the clear Waco "skyline". I was sitting on the couch drinking scotch and listening to Wagner, just watching all hell break loose in the distance. Such a manifestation of sheer power. It was one of the most incredibly beautiful things I have ever seen.
I can tell right now that the next three years are going to test me in a very profound way. Law School will not be easy, but nothing in life that is worth doing ever is. If its going to beat me, its going to have to kill me.
I'm beginning to gain some momentum. I think in 9 weeks when we take our finals I will be ready. I really like the people in this class. The other people from A&M are really cool, and so far I've been able to find people to eat lunch with. Waco is alright also. I may have to take an occasional road trip to Dallas or Austin, however.
