Fake Accounts and (so far) Good Tech Support!

So weird.

I finally threw down on getting a nice audiophile sound card into my system and upgraded a G4 that I got as a trash salvage. IT was a Digital Audio 466, and as luck would have it, I have a 700 G4 cpu that will fit!

512 of RAM already in and one more open slot and in goes a single 512 stick and voila! 1.0 GB RAM. Throw in the SuperDrive that's ripped out of the G4 Quicksilver (that's where the 512 stick came from, actually) the Audiophile 2496 card, a PCI Radeon 9200 128MB (with an s-video port out) video card, and an NVidia GeForce Ti400 4xAGP 128MB VRAM card with a **scary** hack (literally) on it. I could install Leopard, but right now, it runs QuickTime like a shot in Tiger, so as long as that keeps updating to that OS, I'll stick with it.

I fit it all into the tabletop, and the beige is no more - I sent the best bits to my friend Dave and wanted to put pictures to show as I told.. but now here's the weird part this post is *really* about:

My 'foodandart' comcast account - in fact, the ONLY account I have had EVER - with the same username and account name - somehow ended up on a 'Fake Account' by Comcast's accounting. I lost the ability to access my online storage even though the pictures were still online and viewable. They still are, look at last January's post. It took two tries to the online tech support chat to figure out what was going on, but I'm on tenterhooks until this is settled. I could not transfer any account information and was getting kicked out of the system for using my own password and username!

I have NO clue how this happened, NOR did the second tier support tech, but she seemed REAL interested to get this one tracked down. Will see, but within 72 hours I should be able to update the pictures of the new system in the living room!
