New Computer!

Finally got the eternal problems with my computer squared away by getting a new one. Fast as a rocket, it is. and best of all, I can work on my fakes in *print* resolution, which means a chance to actually start to capitalize on the things - I've got enough of the damn things already. I threw down BIG TIME and got a snappy new MacPro 2.6Ghz dual core with 3 gigs of RAM. Sue, it's pure heaven. To say it's fast is an understatement. I'm also tickled that I made a spectacular dumpster-dive (literally!) and got a a 19-inch Sony Trinitron monitor someone threw out. It needed to be calibrated (big time) and I had to holmes out a service manual to get the key code to do so. Now that's all set and it's gorgeous. Just a stunning picture. And big! Have a 1600x1200 desktop now.

Photoshop 7 (which is a carbonized OS9 application!!) still works, thankfully, with the Intel chip and Tiger OS X. So more fakes are forthcoming. I'm liking John Simm right now.. Bloody hell, the man's hitting my HOT button in no small way, and I've not seen a whole episode of anything he's done!

But I digress.

I haven't noticed the slowness of the Rosetta PPC emulation that runs all my old Panther programs - though truthfully, I got so used to the snail's pace from that 9 year old, 66mhz motherboard in the beige, ANYTHING is fast in comparison.

The thing that's blowing me away is how I ever tolerated it. I didn't realize how pokey it was. Always said I had the patience of Job, guess that proved it.

Deb.

Would you like me to send you a 'hookey' copy of Photoshop CS love? I have a disc of it around the place somewhere.

With a serial number and everything? Sure!

I'd love that - e-mail me directly and I'll send you my mailing address (if you don't already have it)
