k3b - A sophisticated KDE cd burning application

K3b is a GUI frontend to the cd recording programs cdrdao and cdrecord. Its aim is to provide a very user friendly interface to all the tasks that come with cd recording.

I'll second that. K3b is the only app I've needed to burn data DVDs, audio/data CDs, and even a bootable floppy disk image for flashing the bios. Intuitive, robust and waaaay user-friendly. :)

Carefull with kernel 2.6.8.1 rog September 22 2004, 01:15:03 UTC
If you use the latest vanilla kernel, your burner might not be recognised as a burner, but as a writer because of some new permission checks that have been introduced in the new kernel. Just use 2.6.7 or start k3b as root (not recommended).

k3b is a great app!

FWIW, seems to work fine for me (as regular user) with latest 2.6.8.1-5 sources from debian and k3b unstable packages.
