Went home this weekend and spent time with Dad. The weekend included:
1) An all-you-can-eat crab and tri-tip dinner on Saturday. It was a fundraiser for the high school FFA program. We ate all we could and then some. Dad and I had to roll ourselves into the house we were so fat afterward. Fat, but happy.
2) At the fundraiser, Dad and I bought a few random raffle tickets. We won nothing but I was two numbers away from winning a rifle. Only in small town are guns raffle prizes.
3) The other raffle prize was a guided wild boar hunt. Again, only in a small town.
4) Fun with pick-axes. Most of Dad's house is currently still surrounded by 6+ inches of ice. As he can't do any major heavy lifting, I broke out a pick-ax and chopped a clean (or mostly at any rate) path from where he parks his truck to the house. Thankfully, it was only a ten foot or so stretch. Also thankfully, I'm not nearly as sore as I assumed I would be.
5) Fun with computers. Dad has improved greatly over the last few months from his complete novice with a computer state. He still has fun questions like, "If my computer is off and someone sends me an e-mail, where does it go?," and the 25 minutes it took me to figure out that the "error" he kept getting was actually him clicking the right side of the mouse instead of the left wasn't much fun, but ,overall, I'm impressed with what he's figured out on his own. He currently is obsessed with looking up wild animal videos on YouTube, which I figure should keep him entertained for at least the next couple of years. Hee.
6) Today I only worked 1/2 day, which was a nice treat and the kitties were mostly happy to have me around for extra cuddle time. However, I don't think either were particularly happy that I chose today to clip their claws. Also, I'm rather annoyed that the 1/2 day I've worked have mostly involved getting yelled at by CoWorkerA for actions that CoWorkerB does. I can't help that you are frustrated with her work style. I'm not CoWorkerB and I can't alter her behavior. Yelling at me doesn't solve the problem. Ugh.
