The Good:
1) My weekend was, overall, very good. I did lots of yard work including digging up all my potatoes which yielded me a bucket of perfect new potatoes plus one mutant potato that had to weigh 2 pounds! Ack! I also spent lots of time cuddling with the kittens, including about an hour cuddle wherein Ollie slept in the crook of my arm like an open-mouthed, drooling baby.
2) I also spent a great deal of time in Mom's pool, including long floats on her new pool lounge chair.
The Bad:
1) Mom and I spent many hours this weekend searching for a coffee table for her and a new TV stand for me. We found nothin'. Well, technically, Mom found one possible coffee table at Pier One but she's not 100% in love with it. I found nothing remotely ok anywhere. I did, however, learn that if you say, "I'm looking for mission style furniture" to my family they will come up with examples of every other style BUT mission. They can come up with examples of modern, French country, shabby-chic, and butt-ugly 80s but nothing even close to mission. Bless them and their lack of design style knowledge.
2) As I may have mentioned before, my neighbor's trees have now grown so tall that I now only get sketchy Directv service. Mostly this hasn't been a huge disappointment to me as I've been too busy this summer to watch much tv. That is, until yesterday when I realized the lack of signal has meant I haven't seen a new episodes of Eureka, Warehouse 13, Leverage, or Drop Dead Diva in 4 weeks. This realization made me very sad. Guess I need to start searching these shows out in different formats.
The Ugly:
1) Bosslady let us know today that she got the job she recently applied and interviewed for. She'll be leaving sometime around Halloween. Bossman has known for all of 4 hours and he's already turned into a total freak about the whole situation. I'm so sad I almost can't function at work today. The only humorous part of this whole thing is that yesterday, in a completely random move on my part, I opened up the horoscope page of the TV guide while standing in line at the grocery store and it said, roughly, "you will receive bad news in relation to your career path on or about the 29th of August." Damn.
