Bike Log: Stardate .... umm nevermind

I've been wanting to really test out my new (used) road bike since I got it a few days ago. I got some bike gear for it yesterday. I actually have a lock and a helmnet now! OMG! So I went biking with my dad yesterday. First we did 2 of the 3.1 mile laps. After that we took a break for a while and I adjusted the seat a little higher (it might still need to go a little higher). With the sun still out, we biked around my parents neighborhood for a while (probably 3.5 miles) and then had some salad. After I got home, I was still wanting to go biking, so I setup my bike light (stolen from my mountain bike which nolonger needs it) on it which is very low on batteries now and put one of those silly blinking small red things on my backpack but the battery in it is completly dead. I went down to the old neighborhood from when I was 4 (which is conviently a few blocks from me) and saw my old house (though I don't remember which but I have a clue). That was probably another 2.5 miles. saturday estimate: 12.2 miles.
After that I decided it would be a good night to switch over the veganaustin.org website to a new server located at a hosting company (a lot faster than my business class cable). After getting everything setup, I disabled the old server at 2:15 this morning, backed up the old database; compressed it, copied it, uncompressed, and restored. It took a little less than an hour which was my estimate so that was pretty spiffy. I was watching the Battlestar Gallactica season finally while working on the server migration, and oh man! Just when you think that show is starting to go downhill, it comes back with great plot development and character development... but I won't talk about that too much cause I don't want to seem like a nerd or anything.
This morning I woke up around 10:00 (I was worried about the server cause I'm weird like that) and decided it would be a great casa de luz day. So I biked down to Casa taking westgate to western trails to manchaca to lamar... I was gonna take bluebonnet which I should have, but I didn't want to be late. The sidewalks on Lamar are pretty crappy in some places and some SUVs even park on the sidewalk at one point and there's no way I'm going to bike on the street of Lamar without a mirror; so next time I'm going to take a different route. Bluebonnet is probably a good choice. Getting there was about 6.3 miles and took about 45 min. After having an awesome brunch with gabriel and john, I biked one short Lap (about 3.2 miles) around the lake. The kayak polo-ers were out doing there thing so I took a short break on the ped-bridge to watch them. After going around the lake, I went down to s.5th street except because of the parmer event center construction, I couldn't find the road I normally take (it might be gone now) so I ended up going down to first street and then back down barton springs to 5th. That was probably about 7 miles there. sunday estimate: 16.5 miles
I think I'm going to go down to flips later tonight to see annie beth. Originally I had planned on biking, but when I decided to bike to casa for lunch, I realized I'd probably not have the energy to bike down to south central austin again.
