HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe holiday. Ours was very nice and ever so busy.
We made it out to Louisiana to see Eratu's family and let everyone see our little boy. The trip out on the plane was good but crowded and Wes was really great and barely made any fuss at all. When we did arrive, we didn't stop! There was so much running around to see family that we barely got time to get away and when we did it wasn't really long enough to see anyone we really wanted to. No big deal, we should be back in the area in June sometime for Eratu's high school reunion.
Christmas was really wonderful. We all got so many wonderful things ( I got a video camera woohoo!)and I got to meet more and enjoy the company of my cajun family. Wesley was a big hit, everyone loved him and he got SOOO many new learning toys that he will be good until his birthday rolls around for sure. The food was great, got the chance to get some hard to find dishes..MMMmMMM!
When the end of our trip rolled around the flight home got delayed until new years eve and then when we did land in Houston, TX there were delays that caused us to miss our connection. SOO we spent the night in a hotel and Eratu's parents drove like 5 hours to make sure we had a way to get Wes food and diapers(we told them not to waste the time and money but all the other family was on there backs to come help). We all shared the hotel room and watched the ball drop on TV. We had to get first class tickets to ensure we would be able to fly out for new years day. OMG, I don't know how many of you guys have ever gotten to fly first class but it was ridiculous!!!! We got offered free booze every 20 minutes, a super high quality dinner with real silverware and dishes plus dessert, a hot towel to clean up before the meal, complimentary direct TV, more leg room than I could use and large comfy leather seat. Seriously, first class is the way to go if you can afford it.
We made it home safe and sound and wishing we had just a little more time back in LA. Now we have to wait for all of the gift we received to get shipped out here (oh yeah we got a Wii and lots of games and gear for it. It's going to be like Christmas all over again.
So on another note, I've been having a time keeping up with LJ and FA and all my internet stuff. I have to contribute my absences to being a mommy. It's hard long hours with little down time to blog or draw or even shower sometimes. It's not going to get much easier either with my hubby going back to school and starting work soon. I am more than happy I have Wesley though, he grows so much in almost no time at all. He has started to eat a little baby food at meal time is sitting up really well on his own. He still hasn't figure out the crawl thing but he seems almost interested in skipping that step. He notices everything much better and his hand-eye skips are picking up too. He is amazingly bright and the pride and joy of his mother and father. I will try to get his picture with Santa posted some time and maybe soon some videos can get thrown up.
Went on a date tonight with my hub. We saw paranormal activity. We likes it lots even though it left just enough for me to twist up in my head and have nightmares. We would have done more but Wes has has crud since we got back and just wants to snuggle and sleep right now. If he doesn't seem to be improving then tomorrow I am going to phone his doctor and try to get him in.
I'll post more rambling later, take care!
