I got my mobile phone from my sister, who bought herself a new one. it's quite some time ago and the phone had so many scratches and chipped off coulour that I deciced to buy a new cover because I can't afford a new phone. when I made this decision, I wasn't aware of the effort it would mean to change the cover, because you have to disassemble the phone.. completely!!!
while doing that I was wondering if it had been really that necessary and if this mess of electronic parts would ever work again.. in case it could ever be reassembled...
I had a nokia manual, otherwise it wouldn't have worked at all of course because I have no idea about electronics of mobile phones and I also didn't have the exact tools they use, I had to improvise. while disassembling the phone and reassembling it into the new shell I found out that it must have about a million parts inside :P
after I finished I saw only couloured pixels on the display because I hit a flex cable with one of those tiny screws. so I ordered a new one, in the hope to make it work again then. it arrived the next day (can't all ebay orders be that fast?) and it worked!! I was so happy, after some more corrections (display upside down) I finally have my old phone back and it looks even better. I earned some skill points in micro electronics :P next time I should let someone else do it who learned how to do things like that... it cost me some of my precious nerves!
