Posted in the main permissions thread here as well, but feel free to reply here if there's anything special I should know!
General
Character Name & Journal: Severus Snape
deathstopperedSpecies (human/alien/vampire/other?): Human, considers himself a breed apart from muggles
Extra-human/abnormal abilities, if any?: Well, wizard. In addition to the ability to cast spells, brew potions, conjure spirits, and craft hexes, Snape is an accomplished occlumens and ligilimens, which is a limited sort of psychic.
Psychology
1. Is it okay for your character's thoughts to be read/their mind to be probed? Y/N/Ask first: Anything in meta or descriptive text is okay for reading, but if your character is doing anything more active, please ask, and please be prepared for him to notice.
2. Is it okay for any of your character’s intense/distressing memories to be seen/heard/read in this situation? Y/N/Ask first: If your character can just see into the past, then sure. If your character needs to use Snape's own mind to do so, then ask. There is a lot of stuff thath he very actively does not think about and carefully conceals.
3. What kind of mind does your character have? Are they disturbed at all? Are their thoughts ordered or jumbled? Snape has a mind like a maze. It's extremely ordered and disciplined.
4. Is it okay for your character’s emotions to be sensed? No, unless they're obviously extreme. Stuff in meta text is pretty much okay.
5. Does your character have a weak or strong mind? Are they susceptible to influence or hypnotism? Very strong. He's not uncrackable, certainly, but he'll put up a hell of a fight unless you catch him in a weakened state.
6. Does your character have supernatural/mental fortification against mind-reading? Yes on both counts, first careful training to discipline his mind, and then his magical abilities as an Occlu/Legilimens.
7. In the case of characters who are extra-sentient/psychic and can just 'know' things about people, can the muns of these characters use the powers of Wikipedia to get information about your character? Yes.
8. If so, is there anything that should absolutely never ever be brought up? Nope. Bring up anything, but ICA = ICC applies.
9. Anything that should absolutely be brought up? I leave that up to you!
10. Will thoughts in the narration be up for grabs? If so, how will you indicate these? Italics/strikes/something else? Sure! I tend not to use strikes, and if I do they're never meant for IC use, but anything else in narration is fine. I don't really write out his word-for-word thought process, so it's probably best to ask.
11. Does your character have any fears/phobias that you would't mind being exploited? Ones that you'd like to NOT be exploited? In my personal headcanon, Snape does not like water very much, and he is certainly terrified of werewolves. Exploit away.
Physiology
1. Is it okay for your character to be affected by chemical agents? Fear toxins, for example?: Yes.
2. Does your character have any unique biological difference that would affect their resistance to toxins/chemical substances?: Nope! Snape has no active defenses against chemicals, other than being slightly resistant due to a lifetime of exposure. This also makes him very observant when it comes to noticing how things are affecting him.
3. Does your character have any notable genetic/supernatural/biological difference that would make their blood in any way different to a regular baseline human's (that would make them taste different if they were fed on by a vampire, for example)? The power of blood is a bit of a theme in his canon, so being all magic, his is probably tingly with a dark aftertaste or something.
Physical
1. How okay are you with your character coming to physical harm? I am totally fine with it!
2. How okay are you with your character's home/possessions being targeted by bad guys? He'll have any permanent residence warded and jinxed, but if you're willing to brave his defenses, c'mon in.
3. Can your character be impacted by telekinesis? Yes.
4. With regard to vampires, would your character be willing to be a donor? Hiiighly unlikely. That would take some truly amazing CR. (But who doesn't like amazing CR?)
5. If no, then how about unwilling? If you want to grab the viper by his tail, go ahead!
6. With regard to shapeshifters, are you okay with having those with this power taking the shape of your character? HAHAHA well it happened to him in canon, so I could hardly protest now!
7. If your character has any superhuman abilities, would you be okay with these being replicated by those who have the power to absorb/take on the powers of others? I'd be alright with something mimicking his raw power, but not his magical education. I would think that, with his mental defenses, nothing should be able to mimic his mind perfectly.
8. In a physical confrontation, is it okay if characters who have the power to sense/foresee/predict movements use this to their advantage against your character? Certainly!
Magics
1. Can your character be influenced and tempted by demons and suchlike? Yes, but Snape is not a Master of the Dark Arts for nothing. Pride goeth before the fall, but he can banish a bitch like nobody's business.
2. If yes, which sins are most prominent in your character? Pride and Wrath are big for him, but his chief sin is Envy.
3. Could your character be glamoured (a form of mind control employed by vampires to make humans compliant/alter their memories etc.)? Not unless he was drugged or severely mentally weakened already. And he would sense that something had been done to him later on.
4. Can your character be possessed, again by demons?: Yyyes. I imagine he's a bit harder to nab than Joe Muggle, but not as tough as all that.
5. Can your character's presence be sensed, by characters with the power to read auras/pick up generalized vibes from people? Yes. If he's cloaking himself with magic, it will be clear in the text.
6. If yes, what about your character can be sensed? (Which sins, any supernatural aspect about them, how strong a character is mentally/physically/emotionally, any traits that would really stand out): In order from easiest to hardest to sense: That he is a living human, that he is a wizard, how sound of mind and body he is at the time, whatever his dominant emotion is at the time, and the sins above. Beyond that, meta text is ok, or PM me. :3
7. With regard to characters that can sense danger/receive visions/predict general doom, are you okay with your character being the subject of any of this, if the occasion arises? Certainly! Prophecy ftw.
Privacy
1. With regard to characters that like to snoop, can they find anything that's been publicly said by your character through the tablets? Y/N/Maybe?: Sure.
2. How about privately?: Snape is no good at tablets, so his own will glitch, so I will probably say yes but would like you to ask me. If he's talking to someone else whose private conversations are secure, then only Snape's side of things will be snoopable.
3. Is there anything you'd especially like to be known about your character, for the purposes of amusement? Nnnot that I can currently think of.
4. Anything you especially don't?: Snape is described as being able to silence a room full of students without raising his voice. I'd like to retain some of that gravitas.
