Fixed my system, from what happened due to me using my own ebuilds, and not those provided by the distro. (They were originally for KDE-3.1.9x (ie, pre-3.2)) Once I realized it was putting things into lib64/ and not lib/ all became clear. Ooops. *contributes a little more blood to being on the bleeding edge*
Had a funny event happen: I and a friend went to a computer sale. Durring this, I got a call saying someone's computer had broken again. Wouldn't power up. (I had figured it was the power supply intermittantly working. And the case's airflow for a 2.4GHz Celeron was horrid.) So I asked if they'd pay me back for a case, which was right in front of me. (mini or micro-ATX, I forget which. Use a different letter! Full sized backplane and room for 3 slots.) So that was relatively easy to fix.
Got a FX 5600 for $7, which works, aside from the fan.
... which I just fixed, with the help of an old cpu fan, and some duct tape! (I'll have to post pictures sometime.
It's almost got as much memory bandwidth as my 4200... (And half my 6600GT) (And people wonder sometimes why the Geforce FXes sucked.)
So far today has been a good day.
And there should be computer gaming later tonight. ^_^
