Star Wars meets UNS corp Mars Base...

steevr (GMing) and hitodama, my dad and I all played Star Wars. (2nd edition, With D6 only! D20s were used, but only for the idling hands of the GM ^_~ )

We kind of short circuited the first part, by being helpful.

Then at our destination, we discovered the base taken over by demons insects. Basically, the comments were that I in particular (bloody wild die kept rolling a 1) was playing it like Doom3, because I kept seeing things. (That generally weren't there) A huge 200m tall chasm was through most of the base and discovered as we scouted, a place that were very heavily carbon scored, as if a huge number of blasters were fired.)

Deciding that discretion was the better part of valor, after that patch, and inside the barracks room found most of the people dead. And a huge 200m tall chasm in the bloody base. Which we later found out, by going to a lower level, was filled with centipedes which had a poisoned bite, that seemed to turn the heart green. Put a thermal Detonator at the bottom, which seemed to have no effect upon the huge mass of these things in the chasm. Then found a room with at least 2, one of which almost killed, (as in almost bit) one of the players, which didn't as it was chopped in half, while on his back, which got a piece of him too. (Wounded, is better than being poisoned to death.) and another squished in the door, which was quickly slammed shut.

After which time we holed up in an airlock, untill help arrived. At which point, a large thing charged, us and was blown to smitherines by my dad's grenade launcher. Climbing a ridge towards the ship, several more large things, responsible for taking out a bunch of New Republic commandos charged us, 2 were killed by my dad (I call beginner's luck with the bloody grenade launcher, those were his first two shots with it), and the third was finally killed by Hitodama's light repeating blaster, after completely ignoring another shot from it, and a shot from a friendly NPC's equivilent weapon. (Learning later 5D vs 8D and 5D vs 6D, which sucked.)

(If there were any people alive, we didn't know, weren't going to live long and we weren't going to find out...)

It was fun. (I left out the whole orange fog 1st part of the base. Which was obviously compared to one of the quake3 levels. ;) )

Someone noted that in D&D 15 dead bodies meant that there was XP somewhere around. In Star Wars, it makes you really cautious.

There is no resurrect in Star Wars, and as the max a human's strength can be is 4D, and your regular blaster pistol does 4D damage (opposed roll), it's very easy to get injured or killed. (You aren't likely to die from a blaster pistol, (as that takes a difference of 12 or 16 in the rolls) but it's entirely possible. And it's very easy to get stunned, or wounded from that.) Also means in rare cases, a speeder can hit someone with a speeder-scale/vehicle weapon and they can just ignore it. (Which happened in a game of steevr's recently, just required the speeder to roll really bad, and the player to roll really good.)

Things to use some day:
Vibra-Sliderule (I'll let hitodama explain that one...)
Carniverious Moss
(something else)
