I've finally updated photos from Discard Avant Garb. Big thanks to everybody who came out to see our work! We had a great night. Cheryl was my awesome co-designer (and backstage don't-step-on-the-train person) and our model Faye just ROCKED. (If she looks like she's making funny faces, it's because to calm her nerves we told her to pretend she was Derek Zoolander.)
For the curious, the costume is made out of vinyl garment bags, mylar emergency blankets, and some blue and green vinyl inflatable tubes Cakes found while camping one weekend. Plus lots of staples and duct tape.
This is Faye doing "Blue Steel." I absolutely LOVE her hair. We colored the tips pink with that fun spray-on stuff and an INCREDIBLY awesome lady came by and teased the crap out of it.
