Summer Reading

Aug 11, 2010 17:39

Well this year I'm just starting on my goal of 7,500 pages. With the career just starting off I no time for reading up until June, so I will try to achieve half the normal goal in half the year.

Shutter Island
Great book! I've never seen a movie so to the book, but it did leave out one or two aspects of Ruffalo's character and one patient that is interviewed. The book was so exciting, I really couldn't put it down once I got into it! Great read for those who haven't seen the movie...for those that have, it will be like reading what you have already watched almost perfectly.

First Two Books of the Sookie Stackhouse series

I'm liking this book series, but I'm liking what the TruBlood TV series is doing with it even more. The books can get a little old with Sookie's obsession with Bill, and just how little plot occurs throughout the book. I am going to continue reading them ofcourse, they are enjoyable. I just look even more forward to season three than I do to book three, and I find this strange.

Eat Pray Love

I have been hearing about this book for years, and when they announced the movie I ofcourse had to race to find a hardcover version to read before the movie came out. It was terrific, inspiring, and life changing. Really puts your life into perspective. It wasn't the best of timing to be reading this book seeing my husband just got shipped to Germany and I was offered a spot to join him in seeing Europe, but had to turn it down for my own career I'm building here. So towards the end I was begrudgingly reading, but now that I'm finished I can't wait to see what Julia does with the character.
