[Susan's voice comes out surprisingly high as she whirls around.]

Oh, really? Is something the matter, Nina?

[If she doesn't acknowledge the sack, no one will notice. That is how things work.]

Oh, not at all.

[Bizarrely chipper for Susan, but no, no time is better.]

[Susan will change her tone to a more suitable one as well.]

I'd heard something along those lines... I wouldn't be surprised if the librarian were being kept under similar circumstances - But I don't believe it of Billy. He's too purposefully malicious for that.

I don't think Samantha would have known about what happened on April Fool's if she were droned through it, either way.

Only insomuch as the others have been saying over the phone. A man they found many mentions to in the town of Westport, it seems - the first one to fight back against Mayfield.

If she was a friend of his, it explains why they kept her droned.

There was a small group of them. They set up a resistance of some sort, but one of their number betrayed them. Evan Olney.

Evan Olney now works for William MacCready, alias Mayor Doe, as our favorite overweight police officer. Probably after he got Richard Grey killed and the rest of his friends permanently droned. Like Samantha Achewood.
