[first action, in school]
[As the students trickle in, they will see Susan calmly sitting at her desk reading a book.  There is an ever so faint gleam in her eyes . . . Despite herself, Susan is not as far above such typical human emotions as pride or arrogance as she sometimes claims to be.  She will rise to her feet as the last student shuffles to ( Read more... )

If you've been here less than a week, then, yes. Yes, I am.

If it's been longer and you have yet to realize that a large minority of us aren't from your inane spherical world, then I'll skip right to the part where I unfavorably compare your mental acuity to that of an overheating troll's. I won't even mention civility.

[After a moment spent registering what just happened, Slugger notices the lack of reaction from whomever else might be in the park that day.]

Question. Are we invisible?

Not so much invisible as not strictly entirely here.

[He simply stares at her, curiously awaiting further explanation.]

[Just enjoy the weather Slugger darnit. After a little while of staring, Susan will sigh a little and lower the book.]

Children are much more interested in the subject matter when they can actually see it happening. There's not much to see in Mayfield, but I thought I'd give it a try, anyway.

[No he didn't because it totally never happened. Susan will be as cool as she always is when she turns slightly towards him.]

YOU'RE NOT USUALLY ONE FOR VANDALISM.

[Not that he disapproves. Just a little odd from you.]

It isn't vandalism if I know I won't be able to damage it.

[She missed that little bit of vandalism. But comes over with a bright smile.]

Susan! I was looking for you!

[NOT VANDALISM gosh but Susan will turn towards Ukraine as she approaches.]

Hello, Ukraine. Did you appreciate the hilarious joke last week?

[Ukraine's smile falters a bit.]

Was quite nasty of them. But this town is always nasty.

I wouldn't have minded nearly as much if I weren't made a fool. But I suppose that was the point.

[As interesting as the beginning of English may have been, Caesar in a sunny park only exasperates his usual reaction to schooling in general. So, he's decided to take part in the 'soothing experience' the park presents instead of writing about it.

Just what does that mean?

He's dozed off at his desk, that's what.]

[Susan is blissfully oblivious to this as she has scootched her chair back a few feet under the shade and is now reading peacefully. As as matter of fact, the whole point was to waste the entire class period so Caesar is welcome to sleep as much as he likes.

No angry looming faces today.]

[Absolutely. If Caesar snores through the whole class, then, he will eventually feel the ominous looming presence anyway.]
