Well, the roomie got laid off from work today due to budget cuts. Which is really shitty for him, and also means the job he was trying to arrange for me has similarly gone poof. We're heading into the city to do battle with various government services tomorrow - UI for him, social security number and health care card for me - and the outcome will be that money will be tight but not impossible. I'm still on paid leave until February so I'm not too stretched, and I've just been poking around idly on a couple of job search sites and found at least three jobs I could apply for right now. Well, once my resume has been adequately trimmed so it doesn't frighten people and block out the sun. *wry* It's a Public Service Special. But yeah, I think my plans to find employment have been moved up the schedule a bit.

I was getting toey with the inactivity any way. *grins*

But yeah, things aren't exactly overjoyed here at the moment. We shall, however, manage.

Note to the family: I'm fine. Money isn't an issue, seriously. I still have money in my ING savings account as a fallback. But yeah, looks like I'll probably be going back into the legal-type area again, since it's what I'm most qualified for. Legal secretaries here do similar things to court clerks at home, actually...

On the upside of today... I got the mp3 player I've inherited hooked up to the computer so I can download music, and Shrek 2 is a rather entertaining film. I also finished Angel season 5 yesterday and finally saw the last episode of the fourth Blackadder. Which is probably one of the best-handled finales I've ever seen. I also have a Rememberance Day poppy. It's a big day here, like Anzac Day at home.
