[Lori] I don't use my mouth "against" people so much as "on" people...esotariaDecember 28 2006, 06:22:58 UTC
Yammy stood and Lori was reminded just how big her Arrancar brother was. Despite her cocky demeanor, she felt a shiver of fear. She had seen Yammy crush the weaker Arrancar just to test his strength -- she had no doubt he could do the same to her.
But she'd be damned if she let that show. Too much deference got nobody anywhere; even if she wasn't strong enough to take him on, she couldn't let that hold her back. Bravado carried almost as much weight as strength.
"Adaro-sama's orders were to treat Hanatarou-sama as we would treat her," she retorted smartly. "I was simply reminding Ulquiorra that we have no say in the matter."
[Yammy] ...no LoriUlqui in this thread, kthxluminamonDecember 31 2006, 06:33:45 UTC
Brains had the advantage over brawn, of that there was no doubt, but Yammy would not relent. That was to his advantage at times, when logic failed to penetrate his conviction. It kept his confidence from faltering, his decisions holding steady when a hesitation would cause them to crumple.
To his perception, this was one of the times where it was an advantage, where Lori's sharp retorts would not dissuade him, nor lead him to back down from the hulking position he held over her slighter form, eyes and expression hard, stuck firm to his defense of Ulquiorra.
"What makes you think he would have forgotten that?" he asked, narrowing his eyes. Ulquiorra did not forget important details, nor did he misplace them for his own means, and that left Lori's excuse for her behaviour some steps short of acceptable.
[Ulquiorra] .... Why would Lori top?keikainDecember 31 2006, 06:49:00 UTC
"I didn't," Ulquiorra clarified, cutting Yammy off from any further admonishment of their sister. Lori, like the rest of them, felt the same resentment to the shinigami who had joined their rank, but it wasn't excusable with Adaro's most recent orders.
"However, the resentment you're showing Hanatarou-sama is different than how you'd treat Adaro-sama, correct?" Ulquiorra pressed, "Our orders were clear. We are to treat him with the same treatment we give our mutual creator. You would not speak this way of her. Speaking this way of him is just as unacceptable."
Ulquiorra turned to watch Hanatarou once more, even in the face of someone like Grimmjow. The shinigami was handling himself well. If he was not killed by his former comrades, Hanatarou might actually survive amongst the hollows and their evolved counterparts.
[Il Forte] Because she's manlier than you are?starswingDecember 31 2006, 08:12:06 UTC
Il Forte held his tongue upon hearing Ulquiorra's words. He knew his brother was right, which only made things more vexing. There wasn't a single arrancar who would have treated Hanatarou with the same respect as they would give their beloved leader... at least, not without Adaro's orders.
But to think that they would have to grovel to a SHINIGAMI... and a weakling of the 4th Division, at that!
"So if we insult him, we insult Adaro-sama," he clarified, sighing exasperatedly. "Then I suppose we have no choice. We must obey orders."
