[31] A brief jubliation

Jan 13, 2011 00:02

[The video turns on to a familiar face to the barge. He looks slightly paler than usual, quite a feat for the already pale vampire, having returned from death at the hands of an aztec warrior and not spending the entire week in the infirmary. Despite this, he is almost uncharacteristically happy... having been reunited with Claudia after a 100 ( Read more... )

Video - WOO 1995. Brad Pitt, Sarah knows who you are. whattheytellyou January 12 2011, 14:25:30 UTC
[At first, Sarah isn't looking at the screen. She's reading Tirion's entry and passively listening to the network. However, it's still polite to say hello. She glances up and gives a thin smile.]

Hello, L-

[Yes, she just went "Llluh..." Her smile fades, she raises her brows nearly to her hairline, and her mouth drops open slightly.]

Mmmm circa 1995 brad pitt. Legends of the fall anyone? deathmerciful January 12 2011, 14:37:53 UTC
[Immortals have that effect on people. Le sigh]

Louis. Enchante.

That one, she has not seen. Being in the field (or amongst dinosaurs) will do that. whattheytellyou January 12 2011, 14:44:06 UTC
[Yeah. It's not about the immortal thing.]

You're Louis. You're -

[She stops, and her brain seems to kick back into full gear again.]

It's nice to meet you, Louis. I'm Sarah Harding.

[How is she going to remember not to call him Brad? How?]

I'm sure Martha could loan them to her. :3 deathmerciful January 12 2011, 14:55:26 UTC
[Louis, smiles softly. Judging by her reaction to his name, he gathers that she recognises him]

I will save you some agony, cherie. Yes, I am that Louis.

Martha already fourth-walled Ian Malcolm for her. Might as well. XD whattheytellyou January 12 2011, 15:02:59 UTC
[She's quiet for a moment. Somewhere in the back of her very logical brain, she assumed this was a Brad Pitt lookalike, not a Brad Pitt lookalike who really thought he was Louis.

She's tempted to reply that it's impossible that he's actually Louis, but around here...well, who can tell. He might be.]

All right. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt, here. You're that Louis.

Reply

Ha ha. I love that guy. deathmerciful January 12 2011, 15:07:23 UTC
And what doubt would that be?

Everyone loves that guy. whattheytellyou January 12 2011, 15:15:16 UTC
The one where you look like a character in a movie I saw last year.

That piece of cinema would not have been, "Interview with the Vampire" would it?

[Have a wry smile.]

That's the one.

It was quite the popular dramatic representation of my life. Sweeping cinematography. I particularly enjoyed the score. Too bad the actor playing my role did not quite get the accent correct. Ah, that is hollywood is it not?

I'm pretty sure accuracy only matters when the actor isn't good-looking. Most audiences are blinded by Mr. Pitt and his dimples.

[No, Louis, she is not flirting. She is most non-flirtatious with the above.]

I did like the score.

Elliot Goldenthal. I met him once, at one of Armand's concerts on the Night Island. He is a talented gentleman.

Night Island?

I will change this to private since I now am certain that Armand still resides on this ship. It is not wise to have someone know too much about their own futures, particularly in a place like this where for some inmates the future is what they look forward to the most.

The Night Island is an entertainment venue owned by an elite class of vampires. It is one of the most elegant pleasure complexes just off the shores of Miami that acts as a resort for the mortals as well.

That sounds ominous. Vampires running a resort for mortals, I mean.

Most of the humans know. They believe it to be part of the spectacle of attending. Much like the theatre of the vampires in the film you watched. Hiding in plain view, as it were.
