Italics are impressions from my first read, when I did not yet know what was going to happen.

honestly, i think JKR felt rushed, or didn't want to look at it again, something, because there are holes big enough to drive *Hogwarts* thru if it had wheels.

i do like this book. i LOVE how the hallows are NOT the founder's relics, and later events in the book i find WONDERFUL (i love the angst, you know).

but damn, the HOLES. are. too. HUGE. i think the whole thing could use a rewrite to plug those things. they're ugly.

No kidding. I guess kids won't catch them, for the most part, but those of us who are really paying attention are going mad in the meantime.

kids who can't catch the gaping plot holes are also, i think, unlikely to understand the plot twists w/o some help. hell, even *i* didn't understand about who the master of the wand is until someone explained it to me. it's there, sure, but not really obvious.

it's frustrating.

I'm going to bitch about this aspect of wandlore in a couple chapters time. Wait for it! :p

room of requirement - have we ever seen it change w/ anyone IN it? why would it work if everyone in it asked for it to change?

so far to get in all we've seen (so i remember) is that someone is walking outside w/ a great need. i'd be worried to be in it if it might change from someone else outside needing it.

(i keep thinking of the room of toilets that DD says he found. great need, indeed.)

We do know that once someone is using it, no one outside can put it to another use, which is why Harry had such a hard time getting in in HBP. We also saw instances of things appearing in the room as needed while it was being used, so I don't see why larger changes would be a problem.
