Last night, after great burgers and good friends, I vented my frustration about my financial aid position to Angel. He didn't deserve the venting, but I was JUST so frustrated!
Here, let me sum up what's been happening...
About a month ago, I went to talk to my financial aid councilor, and found out that I'd need to get a large part of my financial aid on my own through Sallie Mae (where all my other loans are currently).
No problem, I thought.
WRONG.
I needed a Co-Signer, since although I'd been working to get back into good credit, I was still considered on the "bad" side.
A Co-Signer is someone who shows they can be responsible for the loan in the absence of my responsibility, in case I default or are tardy, they've got two people to go to for payment. This would normally be a parent or other family member, but for those of you who know me, that's not going to happen. Next up would be friends, but most have nearly as bad a credit as I do, or are skittish about having that weight left around their neck (people know me too well. I'm not irresponsible, just absentminded.)
So now, It's coming down to the wire. I need to find SOMEONE by the end of this month, or I'm screwed.
Even with taking the least amount of credits I can't afford the payments. The first due date for tuition payments is the 1st.
A miracle is needed.
