Independent Reading

Okay, today we got our I.R. assignments, and we had to go to the library to pick out books. I picked up The Hero's Walk, and my teacher says, "That story is too long, you'll get bored of it." How does she know what interests me? She isn't me, I've already read the book, I just wanted something easy, since it's 4th term, and I don't care about school right now. So I put it down, and ask my friend to find me an interesting book for me. He goes and gets Dune, the original story. I'm like, alright, I've wanted to read the series anyways. Ms. Simon once again says no, saying that I cannot possibly finish a 500 page book. I then describe to her how I read, and the fact that I finished Harry Potter books 1 through 5 in less than a week. That's what... 2,500 pages total? My teacher doubts me because I don't do much work in school, but I like to read. She still said no, and told me to find another. So I did. I went and grabbed Catch-22. I told her that I will read both Dune, and Catch-22. I then told her that I will write reports for both stories, and if she doesn't accept them, I will gladly take a zero for the term, and make sure that I find myself happily in the High School next year. So then she walked away.

Oh, and I have no plans for this weekend, so call me or something if you're bored.
