I guess it was about 15 minutes ago when I was eating a piece of carrot cake in my room reading someone elses LJ when I all the sudden broke into tears. I guess part of it was from thinking about the whole Tower Records incident and how there's not much I can do to make it go away. Part of it was also thinking about this Mars Volta album I just bought last night.
This is probably the greatest album I've bought in a long, long time. But while it is musically brilliant, its also got a message and a concept. Its about a man who tries to kill himself by overdosing on morpheine, but instead goes into a drug-induced coma. While in this coma, good and evil aspects of his mind begin to war with eachother. After a week, the man actually wakes from this coma but chooses to die.
Not much else I can explain, I didn't write the album. I just found this story to be very sad, and its based on the life and actual suicide of a friend of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, the guitarist of the band. Its a beautiful but tragic piece, if that means anything, and I would highly encourage anyone thinking about getting it to do so immediatly. 'De-loused in the Comatorium'.
In other less important news, I might be getting a job at a CD store down in Greenwich. I also got my mom that Velvet Underground record 'Andy Warhol' for her Birthday. She's been badgering me about what I want for Christmas, but its hard to make clear that all I really want from her and dad is forgivness. I want to make this thing go away before it kills me. I want to make it go away before it kills me.
