long time no see
So it's been pretty quiet in my LJ lately. In a good way though, since I've been doing stuff and having a life. funny how time online suffers when that happens. :) Let's see...
Last weekend (the Live show) was so much fun. We were right up close on the side of the stage and watched the whole show from there. Live played for 2 hours, it was nuts. Great setlist too. Lotta groupie-types there though, I never realized their boy band-like status with the womens. Only downside is we were right under the speakers and I forgot my earplugs so my ears were ringing for a good 3 days afterwards. We went to see Joanna and co at Rocky afterwards which was fun. Most of the cast and some others (Sam's friends sam2 and meghan were there too) and us all went to a diner after. That was great, I really felt like I was part of a group for once.
The toy show on sunday was great too. Sam came and was really supportive, even if she did tease me about being a total dork. But that was to be expected of course. The shopping wasn't that great since it was mostly older stuff that I had, but I got a couple of spare parts I needed. Plus two new Binaltechs, and I got to inspect a case and half of each one to make sure the paint was good. Sam was really helpful with that and talked me into getting the second one. Yes, talked me INTO getting a second $55 figure. Gotta love it.
And then this past weekend we went to see Fear Factory. It was even better since we won tickets off WSOU on Monday. We ran into some of the guys I knew from Rutgers and hung out with them for a bit. Stood back while they accosted the guitarist from Immolation who was there too. Great freaking show. And afterwards we went up to New Brunswick and got food at Jimmy's. Got my usual large sausage and pineapple pizza, and let me tell you it was fucking good! Haven't had their pizza in so long, I gotta do that more often. Wish I'd gotten gyros too though.
And now I'm wrapping up two more days off in a row before I work 6 straight. Going to be a busy week aside from all that too- I've got an appt at Brookdale in a few hours with a career counsellor, Thursday is New Brunswick, and Friday Harry Potter comes out.
And finally, I heard back on my time off for December- I got it! So I'm going up to MA to see the Amon Amarth tour, hang out with Becky and maybe my ex, and Sam might even come along. And Pat might be coming with me to the show in NYC a few days later.
Aside from a few other geek-ish things (other TFs I've got etc) I think that about sums it all up.
