Life is good right now. I used to always think: "Man, I wish I could go back to the old days...I would come home from school...and would just do what ever the fuck I wanted to do. Just play. Then eat dinner. Then watch TV or play video games. Then wake up and do it all over again. No homework. No worries. Other than that little bit of school, no bullshit." Well, I've been lucky enough to obtain that same pleasure. I wake up...I go to something much like school. I come home. I don't worry. I don't fear the next day. I don't lose sleep to bills or homework or responsibilities or finding a job or doing this or that or blah blah blah blah BLAH. I just do whatever the fuck I want to do. I think the only single responsibility right now is the big move...and frankly I'm not worried about that yet.
I have recently started going to the gym again, and have done pretty well. When I was back and forth from Phoenix to Prescott those few weeks, I naturally didn't go very much. But I have changed that. Good for me, those weeks away have made it much more bearable. I was going to go today, except I decided to take a quick 20 minute nap. Twently minutes later, I decidely "Oh most definately, there will be nothing 20 minutes about this." An hour and a half later, I came to...expecting The Office. But no, I must sit patiently bide my time while "My Name is Earl" does whatever it does...and THEN I get The Office. And then, I promise myself, I will go to the gym.
Yesterday, I ordered gut strings fer the ol' bass. Why are they called 'gut strings', you might ask. Because -- they are literlly strings made from the intestines of a cow. I will soon be making music with bovine entrails strewn across my bass. I don't know, I like describing them in that way. Great "ewww" factor. Anyways, they have a nice vintage sound (used to be just about all that people used back in the day) and are like playing giant soft rubber bands -- so my fingers and arm won't hurt so much after long shows. THAT is a plus!
I go to Phoenix this weekend to see "Against Me!" this weekend, which is the band probably at the top of my list of "bands I keep missing and that thereby keep making me sad." I....am very excited.
See ya in hell, people.
