Just posting some fun links to prove that I am indeed still alive. I'm still busy solving a number of problems and not really fit for public consumption, but I am getting there. That and my cable connection has been dead for a while since for some reason it dies whenever we have a decent amount of rain and then stays dead for a few days, which makes me tend to think that something is getting wet that shouldn't and needs time to dry out. Anyway, enjoy these links in my continued "absence":
Ok, most of you who are gamers have probably seen or played or heard someone like me rave about this little gem, but here it is anyways:
http://agtp.romhack.net/doukutsu.html This is a free nes/snes looking game that plays like Metroid and GBA Castlevania and is arguably one of the best games I have played in years, it would be even more awesome if it was on a GBA cart for portable fun but other than that I have no complaints, especially since the ENTIRE game was made by one man in Japan who calls himself Pixel. Make sure to get the English patch and have fun, if you happen to get to the secret level at the end tell me how well you did because I am still struggling with it.
Sham-bam-bamana.... It's a Sockbaby Jesus!
http://64.167.50.130/index.htm This collection of live-action insanity combines equal parts Tarantino-esque nostalgic cool with old school chop-socky in the vein of Bruce Li (no not Lee, the imitator Li) along with PeeWee's Playhouse, which is a recipe for awesome in my book. When I first watched the first episode I found it to be a little annoying until it hit the fight scene, but now I love every bit of it. The quicktime versions are better quality but twice as large, so if you are on dial-up you might want to opt for the wmv version.
Quickly becoming my favorite weekly webtoon, behind Strongbad of course, is the adventures of Space Tree, in space!
http://spacetree.keentoons.com/episodesss.htmlNot quite Adult-Swim material, but definitely a million times funnier than "Tom goes to the Mayor" and "Super Milk Chan", but then again what's not? Ok, let me start over, this show is exactly like if you threw Home Movies, Futurama, and ATF into a blender, and although it never surpasses any of those when it does things right it is "Comedy gold my friend". Worth checking out if you are bored and the new Strongbad isn't out yet.
This one is for Shadowstitch :
http://dremel.com/productdisplay/tool_template2.asp?SKU=764-01&Color=99CCFF I didn't know if you had seen it but figured you would get a kick out of it.
Here is
http://abi-station.com/ , which I know a lot of people are already familiar with but it is new to me and maybe a few others. For those who haven't seen it before it's a fun little page for making pixel-art portraits, perfect for LJ and such. Now you too can join the pixely revolution that seems to be sweeping across blogs and forums everywhere.
And last but not least, here is an utterly shameless promotional plug for my brother's band The Rewinds:
