Moving on up

It sure has been a while since I have made any entries, the reasons for which are as varied as they are boring. For the most part I have been out of town or busy or whatever it was that I was going to blog about radically changed before I could around to writing about it. Really, for the most part, I haven't had any desire to write since my all of ( Read more... )

I really think it all depends on where you teach that determines whether or not you enjoy it, that and whether or not you have a well established social life coming into the job. I don't think it is a bad career choice, I am just not so sure it is the best one for me right now at this stage in my life. I would like to get out there and work on various projects and get more life experiences in the business before settling into one spot to teach, it just seems like I would be ready to settle down after I got it all out of my system and would have more to offer in my lessons. Wow, what's up with the 'rents going to cut you off?

I haven't gotten around to reading the WOT prequel since Jordan pissed me off by putting it out instead of the next book in the series, seems like he knows his books are literary crack and wants to string us out longer and get all of our cash since he knows we will still buy his product. Come to think about it I haven't even checked to see if he has announced the release for the new one yet, my guess he probably has or is working on "prequel part 2", in which case I will have to load up my guitar case of guns and pay him a visit.

Hmmm, trying to think of books to recomend..... Jordan did write some Conan books and they tend to pop up on the bargain tables of BAM. I have been just getting whatever looks interesting at the thrift store since it is a cheap way to "discover" good authors.

Curiously enough I ran across a book in the thrift store called The Demon Princes. It looks to be a good read because it seems to have nothing to do with religion whatsoever. Ive only read a little, but the setting so far is a bar\inn on an unihabited planet in some time in the distant future though the dating system is has nothing to do with anything. Its by a guy named Jack Vance. So pretty cool name equals pretty good book right?
