Notes: I think you can tell the title does not belong to me, any more than Robin Hood does... (Also, I don't know if cinammon was around in those days, but whatever. It's Christmas. Ish.)
He cannot fail to notice the difference to the Great Hall when he enters one afternoon. The forbidding stone columns and walls have been draped with some rich tapestries of an inviting deep crimson, the old, rotting rushes replaced with fresh, sweet-smelling - cinnamon, unless he’s much mistaken - ones, and every spare surface draped festively and tastefully with boughs of lush holly and tendrils of ivy.
It is not the wall hangings or the fresh carpeting, or even the beautiful foliage that decorates this usually cold and unwelcoming room that captures his attention, however; it is the woman in the middle of it, dressed in the sumptuous gold gown he had gifted to her for the occasion. The garment is as wonderfully form-fitting as he could ever have hoped, and as she bends down to pick up another holly branch from the floor, she exposes the enticing curve of her behind to his appreciative gaze.
