I don't car who you are, what your political stance is or who you pray to... today is 9/11. Today is the anniversary of the most horrific tragedy of my life. Other countries and people may have experienced worse, but they don't have the same bearing on me as this does. The Columbine shooting will always stand out, but this is at the top.

Be you democrat, republican, gay, straight, etc. Today, it is your job to shut up and quit bitching. You didn't lose your life for no good reason. Most of you didn't lose family or friends for no good reason. But we all lost something that day. We lost the illusion of safety. 9/11 is a day to remember.

I'll never forget how solemn a day it was. I'll never forget how quiet a day it was. I'll never forget how sad a day it was. I'll never forget being woken up to the absurd statement that "the French just bombed the WTC."

9/11 is the D-day of my generation. It's the tragedy that will forever shape part of my life. I'll never forget that day and I urge everyone not to either.

Find a moment to have silence. Take a second to remember who you are, where you live, what you (should) stand for.
