I actually had a lot of fun at work tonight
It sounds weird i know but i did have fun tonight.
You see, the week nights (other than friday) are usually very slow. People are working and tired so when it comes time for the evening shift no one realy comes in because everyone is at home relaxing, so i am lucky to make $15 that night. Usually there is nothing to do. Every 45 minutes or so someone comes in and i finally get to do something. Then i have to wait for them to finish and leave before i can start working again. So tonight was no different, its Thursday, people are working and have no time to come into the Cafe, and the people who do come in are small parties.
So i started out with the usual seating people every once in a while. I had a lot of time to talk to my friends and work out a training schedule for serving.
Anyway i guess what made it so fun was the whole night we were just playing around and joking. As i was rolling silverware Ron *very cute i'd hit that even though hes like 15 years older than me* was eating his dinner and we were talking about the Simpsons, South Park and Family Guy. We were laughing our asses off the whole time, and we got Vanessa (his girlfriend, she's so lucky! but she deserves someone as great as Ron) into the whole thing. She had never seen Family Guy before except for one episode and she said she couldn't stop laughing. Anyways as the night went on i was talking to Vanessa and i feel sopmething hard hit me in the back. So i turn around and its this huge ball of dough. i was like "wtf!?" and Laurie was laughing so hard at me. So we ended up having a dough fight.
All we did was mess around all night. I mean i sat people when they came in and cleane the tables, and the servers all did their jobs, but we realy enjoyed ourselves tonight.
I'm glad that work doesn't always have to be so serious and so drawn out. I'm glad that we can sit around and joke and laugh and talk about different shit. Now on a side note, i am looking for a new job, or at least another job. A friend of my dad's just bought and opened a bar called TailGators its right in Clifton Heights across the street from the Rite Aid and #1 China. Its a hel of a lot closer than the American Cafe and i can work 2 jobs over the summer, one as a server and the other as a bar tender. I went into TailGators tonight and talked to the manager (since hes good friends with my dad i have a better chance of getting hired if they ever need anyone) and i mentioned Ron to him because i asked Ron about bartending there and he said he'd love to.
I just need more money. The $3.00 i make an hour isn't helping with the $200 a month i spend on that damn car and the $30 every like 2 weeks or so i spend on cigarettes, plus i want to see Kris this summer so i really need to start saving. I can't wait till I'm out of school. Spring Break starts tomorrow so i can do some in-depth job hunting. My dad said that this bar/restaurant called Casey's is hiring people right now and thats realy close (its by Upper Darby high) so probably tomorrow after school i'll stop by there and apply. I really either need a new job or need to get another job. I'm 18 now so i can serve alcohol, i can learn how to bartend.
