Well, everyone else posted their Purg experience, so I guess I should join in. Wow. Let's just say, as soon as we drove in, I hit the ground running. New jobs will do that to you I suppose - hehe! At first I was starting to regret accepting the Royal Charter coordinator duty, but as I got a little more familiar with what I needed to do, it wasn't so bad. It started with walking into the Spartan Camp to ask about scrolls and getting a brush and rubber bands shoved into my hands - "did I know how to braid?' Eh, I can handle that. Finding out that the two scrolls I needed for evening Court weren't done... now that almost did me in. My first day on the job and Murphy had already been busy working on my demise. (I'm VERY thankful for those few individuals who made sure I had water and PB&J - you forget about those things.) Calligraphed the scrolls, got them signed and sealed, sigh of relief.... then one of the seals fell off. Argh! Hehe! Got that fixed and then had time to relax a bit. Spent the rest of the event with Evenstar talking scribey stuff (they were awesome) and getting Cat's new scroll signed. Nice end to a crazy day.. or so I thought. Somehow, last minute, I got wrangled into standing Court. Dangit. Don't get me wrong, I usually like standing court, but when I have no idea what's going on with awards and stuff, it isn't that much fun anymore, especially when people are looking at you like "you should know the routine by now". Sorry, If you don't tell me what to hand out, I'm lost. I'm just not one of those professional Court-like people I guess. The best part of standing up there though, was being entertained by Kif's first court heralding experience. (hehe, it was great!) Anyway, by the time we got over to tear down and take off I was brain dead... not sure what kept me moving - I must have an autopilot cause it kicked in and totally took over. heh! So basically for me, the event was a bit stressful and nerve-wracking, but seeing the faces of the recipients of the very scrolls I ran myself ragged for, made it all worthwhile. :) Here's hoping next time will be smoother!
