[This post is unfiltered. Kuja apparently still hasn't found his OWN clothes, but he's grabbed some robes, possibly a dress, a jacket, and some other pieces of fabric and has fashioned much more appropriate attire, something suitably flamboyant and elegant. He's reclining against the wall, one hip cocked, drumming his fingers against a sliver of ( Read more... )

Who knows who who is, now?

Ah, just a little ash-owl, quite pleased by his own wisdom! He gave me a piece of advice, which after consideration, I have decided to take to... heart.

Perhaps you can answer my questions.

How curious -- one hardly ever sees owls here. Perhaps you were imagining things.

[Grins]

Still, perhaps I can. What questions would these be?

I wish to know more about the subjects that were removed, and then returned.

Do you, now? Hmm. What about them?

What were their names? And how did they react to their captivity?

Hm. Of those here now... well, your friend Beatrice, for starters. She seemed to take it in very level-headed fashion, which I'm sure won't surprise you.

[Mildly] Why do you want to know?

[His lips quirk in a tiny smile at Beatrice's name, then it's back to catlike cool.]

Call it curiosity. So Beatrice was gone, and then returned... who else?

Mm... Vaati-shan was gone, and returned a few weeks ago; Kozue as well. Neither was tremendously communicative about the experience upon their return.

Of those in the village at present, I believe that's everyone.

Vaati and Kozue have power. Beatrice is a mortal, albeit sharp-witted for the average. Unless she has potential that she is unaware of. In this place it's entirely possible.

[Stares out the window in silence for about a minute.]

Tell me about the individuals who have NOT returned.

...please.

Now, that's a rather more demanding request, you know. There have been quite a lot more of them.

[Dryly] Do I hear 'pretty please'?

[Kuja looks away from the window and regards the crow, head cocked, with a faint smirk.]

My apologies. I assumed you were as bored as the rest of us. If you have more pressing matters to attend to, I will of course allow you to carry about your business.

But if you ARE so inclined to lend me your time, I would be EVER so grateful.

[Smirks back]

How very gracious of you to allow me my business. But I'm not quite sure I see how reciting lengthy lists for someone else's edification is likely to ease my boredom. That's more along Ark's lines than mine.

I suppose I can give you the short version, if you'd like.

[Rolls his eyes with a Dramatic Sigh.]

The short version, then. Names, attitudes, magic or mortal. If you know someone who has been here longer than you and is more knowledgeable, I'll ask them for the details later.

[Chuckles]

Now, now. Try that again without the petulance, dear, and we'll see.

You're a flighty little owl, aren't you? I've used your magic word. I've been perfectly polite. If that isn't enough for you, say so, that I might avoid wasting my time.
