Anemone bustled around her room humming happily. For the first time since she had been sent to this forsaken place for her own safety, she had good news from home.
Her dear and loving guardian, Colonel Dewey, had sent word that he was hopeful the war would soon be over. He was close to overthrowing the Evil Grand Vizier, and she could return home and marry her dear Dominic.
In fact, he seemed most insistent on the wedding, but Anemone dismissed it as simply wanting to see his two children happy after so much terrible tragedy.
Humming happily, she pulled out her paints and began to work on a gift worthy to present to him upon her return.
