Since I've been discussing it a bit in comments spawned by my last post with the scans, I've decided to share my thoughts on the Death Note movie that I've seen two weeks ago when it came out here in Japan.

The bus scene, with Ray (his mustache made him look so gay. XD) who has a Japanese name I forget at the moment to make him a half Japanese to explain his asian looks.

Actually, he's that way in the manga, too. Read vol. 1, chapter 7 ("Target"), pg. 183 (in the US version, I'm not sure if the pages are the same in both versions). He says that he's American but his mom's Japanese.
And, wow, Raito kills his own g-friend. What a shock... ^_^

Light seems to have problems with women... which doesn't make too much sense because he has a decent relationship with his mother... oh well.

I had hoped that the 1st movie would end at the end of the 1st arc, but this is ok too, I guess...

oh yeah, before I found out there would be a sequel, I wanted it to end at the 1st arc... I don't want to see the 2nd arc either XD

there will be a second movie?
and I feared that they would cut out most of the story to make it fit into this one movie ^^;

but you have seen it ;_; I also want to! *cries*

I also had problems, however, with Fujiwara Tatsuya as Light, but after looking at the trailers some more, it was okay ^^
