Well, Ines is literally seething from her encounter with the Warden.

The nerve of him! Acting like it was no big deal!

She wishes she could break something, or someone. In Paris she might have gone to a bouge. Hired a whore. Done things to her.

She can't do that to Zillah, though - she likes her well enough.

Hence the broken vase in the common room.

"That vase done yah wrong?" a raspy voice asks from a chandelier, and if she looks up, she'll find that skinny, clownish-looking death god, grinning down at her. "Hiyah, Ines."

"You!" Ines calls back. "You shouldn't have told me."

Yes, she's being unfair, we know.

"Shouldn't've told yah what? About the Warden and what he gets himself into?" Ryuk asks, with really fake innocence. "You ast me to keep an eye on him and what was up to, an' tell you about it. Only told yah what I knew."

"You should have got me evidence," Ines replies aggressively. "He says he's not the father!"

"Well, for a guy who ain't the kid's father, he sure looked in a lot on the kid's other father... or whatever yah call 'um," Ryuk observes.

"Well that's all well and good," she replies, "but that's not bulletproof, is it?"

"Heh, true. Unless there's some scientist here who could run a paternity test, figure out who's the other dad," Ryuk says, cribbing what he knows from talk show madness, though he has no idea how it's done (or that the tech at the Mansion is limited to a blood type test).

A beat. She looks at him.

"Fine. Find me that scientist, Ryuk, and I'll forgive you."

A grin, feline and devious.

"And we'll be friends forever and ever."

"You got it, Ines: I'll scare someone up," Ryuk says, holding up one hand as if swearing an oath (would a shinigami swear on his Death Note, one wonders...). "I promise yah."

She smiles, looks a little bit more sweet, and says, "Oh, Ryuk, you know how to talk to a woman, my darling."

"Heh-heh, glad to hear I learned *something* from those romance shows I used to watch," he says, grinning and blowing Ines a kiss before fazing through a wall

ooooh, love potioning between Ryuk and Ines would be delightful, if that's what you had in mind! I've just the mental image of Ryuk leaning his head on Ines's shoulder and spouting off silly romantical rubbish!

Yeah, flirt for a few minutes or so works for me: considering Ryuk ain't human or technically corporeal as it's normally understood, ye spell might not last as long as it would on a human or a Pony from Equestria.
