That and for chuckles, Ryuk has been toting a small magnifying glass -- don't detectives carry them? -- which naturally does not go through walls with him (thus, he's dropped it more than a few times and lost it on occasion before finally

Johnny doesn't move from where he is or look up from the fridge he's filling up with bottles. "Not on tap, Ryuk," he says. "But you don't mind, right?"

He takes the bottle, opens it, then places it on the bar for his friend.

"Heh-heh, I ain't picky about what the cider comes in, as long is tastes good," Ryuk says, opening the bottle and taking a swig from it. "Mmmm! Good shit yah got there."

"Glad you like it," Johnny replies without much emotion. He's busy wiping the counter - there's a basket of apples on the corner of it.

"So? What you got for me, Ryuk?"

Ryuk takes another swig from the bottle. "Ehhh, I got bad news. I don't see her anywhere. I looked everywhere, attic, all the rooms, the basement, even checked the barns. Zip. Nothin'." He's trying to sound apologetic, but it doesn't quite sound right coming from him.

Johnny frowns, reaches for a bottle of his own (beer, though, not cider, and he's having Guinness.)

"Nothing?"

"Nothing," he says. "Didn't see her nowhere here,"

See this beer, Ryuk? Now you see it, now you don't.

Johnny is drinking it straight pipe. You'd swear he has some magic of his own.

No words.

"Whoa, shotgunnin' yer drinks?" he asks. "Guess she meant a lot to yah. Yer girlfriend?" He's heard of humans drinking heavily when their loved ones had left them.

[johnny_rockfort]

"She's no-one," Johnny replies harshly. He sets to mixing something that he probably shouldn't drink.

"Ooohhh, yah gettin' snappy. If she really didn't mean nothin', yah wouldn't be so mad," he says, insinuatingly. He's seen a lot of soap operas, and this is the first time he's seen it happen for real.

[johnny_rockfort]

"I'm not mad," Johnny growls. "I'm annoyed."

Under his breath, barely audibly, "could have left me a note."

"Same difference," Ryuk says, taking another swing from the bottle of cider. "Whut about a note?"

He's being a bug, he may not realize if he is or not. It could just be a case of Ryuk being Ryuk.

[johnny_rockfort]

"I don't know, it's not really polite to leave like that. Fucking disappear, not saying a word." Pause. He glowers at the bar. "And look at all the work I did because of her."

Johnny takes a glass, throws it violently, until it smashes against the wall in so many little shards of glass.

Ryuk actually jolts a bit, edging onto another stool. "Hey, still a nice spread yah got down here."

[johnny_rockfort]

"What?" Johnny might not have heard that over the sound of clattering glass.

"I said, yah still got a nice spread down here here," he says. "Good place for folks to meet, good place for interesting things to happen." And he's rather looking forward to seeing what could happen down here.
