It's retarded.
Quite a few parts of the designs offend my aesthetic sensibilities. Mostly faces.
(You don't have any idea how much i freaked when Prime's mask retracted. Traumatized for life 8C ).
Uh. Arcee isn't Arcee... she's Chromia with her aggression turned down. Also, her design just keeps reminding me of my OC. lol.
But yea, CJ's voice = too much like a Swindle.
And i hate his design. I'm glad he got turned into a zombie. And cut in half. ^.^
Bee... is cuter than i thought he'd be. Still annoyed he has no voice. What IS that?
Ratchet. Yea, i like his character, not sold on his voice yet.
Bulkhead i think will grow on me. I admit, the bit where he destroys Ratchet's tech while making a point and Ratchet's subsequent distraught exclamation was good XD
Primes face, as i said, makes my brain throw up.
Starscream.... now, i'm surprised i really quite like Starscream on the whole. Megs is good too (not the smokers mouth, but everything else is cool. Welker has adapted his voice well for the series while still retaining that classic Megs charm XD
The HUMENS. Are just Danny Fenton, Sam Manson and a curious mix between Chip chase, Tucker Foley and a troll doll. I don't like the girl. Jack is OK, he seems to have the same opinion about his situation as i do about the show so far. The lil hacker is too cliche. His speaking Bee speak is too random for me, sorry.
Soundwave looks like the witch king of Angmar from LotR XD
Rendering is dissapoint, yes. Especially the bit where Starscream sticks his digits into CJ and the energon splatters. It's... well, i LAUGHED.
Despite that, it seems pretty brutal to me, given it looks like its made to appeal to young kids, 10 year olds, and yet Cliff goes nuts and ravages other mechs and gets cut in half and that's pretty nasty.
Plot is pretty random.
OH, THAT REMINDS ME, my BIGGEST gripe of the first episode:
Cliffjumper fights the 'Cons near a tiny 'gon deposit, and a stray shot explodes the lot.
And THEN, when there is a whole FIREFIGHT in an ENERGON MINE, NOTHING BLOWS UP???? WTF.
This is one key piece of evidence that this series is so far, just fanfiction. And not great Fanfiction.
I WILL continue to watch more, just to see if it gets better. I know the measure of a whole show cannot be taken from the first episode, but still, so far, not promising. You cant really improve the bad character designs (only bad by my opinion, and not all of them).
Whatevs, I prefer to watch G1 or TFA, both are more entertaining.
Bwah. I'm currently writing this in little dribs and drabs while rehersing for christmas carol singing :C also the lack of swearing is because i have a 7 year old sitting next to me, whom im kinda fruitlessly teaching (or supposed to be teaching) the soprano line T.T
Yyyyyea. I dont wanna do this this year. No fucking choice, and what's WORSE is im now the only sop this year, so pressure is on me to totally remember every part and sing UP. I'm going to strain my voice to nothing, damnit.
