Calmly, completely in control, Sephirotth shifted his stance ready to deflect whatever kind of projectiles the incoming machine would fire at him. If Blackout had expected an easy kill, he was to be sorely disappointed.

It wasn't projectiles the cannon fired, but a something like a modified EMP pulse...with the added benefit of being explosive. The fact that he was using this, his most powerful weapon, right of the bat, was an indication that he was no perhaps as confident as he was trying to project. He fired.

With the hint of a scowl - Sephiroth perhaps also losing a smattering of his confidence - the silver-haired man was able to dodge the actual projectile, although the following explosion proved more of an obstacle. He was just able to avoid the centre of the devastation, but his hair singed a little at the ends, causing him to scowl further.
