[It hadn't been that long since Blackout had been human last--three weeks since the fuel-raid-gone-wrong, seventeen days since Ares had torn him to pieces, slightly over two weeks since he'd come online again, slightly under since he and Eros had repaired the rift between them. Compared to the millenia he'd been online, how long he'd been at war, roaming the universe, three human weeks should have seemed like nothing.

But it didn't.

He was finally in one piece, capable of getting to his feet and pacing around the restricted space of the backyard. Even capable of transformation, though he wouldn't have done it unless it was an emergency. All that was left was for his repair nanos to reconstitute what they'd had to cannibalize to make the most urgent repairs, and as Eros had pointed out, that could be done just as easily human as mech--more so, because food was easier to come by than some of the alloys he required.

He sent Scorponok away. He'd been briefed already on the change, but Blackout wanted to wait, wanted him mech in case...in case. Just in case. Eros could change him later, and this way they would have some time alone anyway.

He knelt close to the house, rebuilt rotors rustling, and called Eros' name low.]
