[RL--Eros and Blackdoom--Target Practice!]

May 06, 2008 22:21

[Okay, if he had to be stuck in the form of an animal, Blackout had to concede it could be worse. He had nearly as much mass in this body as in his human, even if it was proportioned differently, and the pyrotechnic capabilities were definitely a perk ( Read more... )

He'd been in the kitchen making something to eat when he felt a press there-- he was used to Balasi doing this so didnt think much of it, until he heard the voice. He glanced over and blinked-- thank gods this wasn't long term, he'd never get used to it.] Oh? Well... [He glanced down at the sandwich, then thought about how Blackout had posted about his firebreath and.... Well, there was no contest. He pushed the sandwich aside and took a step back, hand falling to stroke over Blackout's head.] Let's go burn things, then~

[It was probably a good thing Blackout didn't know much about actual dogs, or he would have been mortified at how hound-like the way he arched up into the caress was. He rubbed his side along Eros' hip, nearly prancing as he head for the door.] Outside, I assume. Don't want to risk the house.

[Eros chuckled, rather liking how close he wanted to be and nodded, pushing the door open, minding Blackout's tail as he went ahead, closing it behind them.] Mmm, we can find a part of the beach that isn't occupied, hm? That way it wont go beyond the sand~

[He nodded, careful not to get too enthusiastic about it and bash his horns into his back.] A sound plan. [He trotted ahead, then turned a tight circle and returned to Eros' side.] Somewhere not often frequented. There should be debris.

Ohh! [He perked, hand falling to his neck, patting absently, liking him there, by his side.] Me and Apollo took a walk the other day, found some old abandoned boat, that looked like it'd seen it's last day. It'd be a service to Chile to burn it, don't you think? [Smirksmirk.]

[He chuckled, the sound a little rougher, a little more growly, but still very much Blackout. He leaned against him, just a little, as they walked.] Oh, clearly. Irresponsible not to, really.

[He lead him down the shore, avoiding eyes of onlookers who'd never seen such a hound before and right down to where tourists no longer strayed and there it was, capsized, a big hole in the bottom of it.] Looks a bit wet but-- Hm. [He broke away and looked around, finding a piece of wood that had dried, no longer touched by water and pulled until it came loose; thankfully it was no longer held together as strongly. He jogged back, plank in tow, looking mighty proud of himself.] Do you know how to, er, turn it on?

[Blackout ignored the stares, not even, apparently, conscious of them...until he lowered his head and snarled at one who was standing just a little too close when he decided it would be a good idea to gawk.

He watched Eros wrench the plank free, one paw digging at the sand idly. Felt strange, sand in his fur, but at least the bottoms of his paws were more pad then fur. He cocked his head to the side at the question, and his tail swung low.] Not yet, no.

[He was weighing the wood absently in his hands, considering what they could do, how they could possibly trigger it and finally set the dry piece down in the sand, taking a few steps back.] Hm. I should've looked up some pokemon attacks before we came out. [Thoughtful pause] Triggered it when you sneeze, right? Did you feel something switch when you did? Could you try and recreate it, without the sneeze?

I could try, yes. [He advanced as Eros stepped back, pawing at the board to prop it up some in the sand, so he wouldn't have to try and hit a flat target. Then he backed away as well, expression as thoughtful as it could get on a Houndoom face. Hesitantly, he tried something like an experimental cough or two. Nothing happened on the first, but an embarrassingly small tongue of flame licked out on the second.]

[Eros gave an excited clap, scooting back a bit more.] Oh, you've almost got it, I saw something there!

[Blackout nodded again, too determined to get this right to be excited right now. He set his legs wide, sighted the board, and tried again, putting more force into the snap of his head and neck. This time it worked, a tongue of flame lashing out and licking along the wood with a crackle, though it died away after just a moment.]

[The flame had been exciting but seeing a blast like that was awe-inspiring. He gaped for a moment; always in cartoons, never in real life, huh?] Blackout, that was awesome. [A pause, leaning forward a little] Think you can scorch it?

[His jaw hung open in a what passed for a smile at the praise, and he pranced a step or two to the side, tail switching back and forth energetically.] I can try! [And he did, aiming his muzzle and recreating the movements, and there it was again. This time it lasted longer, and when his jaws finally snapped shut, cutting off the flame, the board was burning merrily, surrounded by blackened sand.]

[Eros was stunned for a moment, again caught off guard by how cool it all looked. Hell, it was like having a flame thrower for a husband and that felt pretty badass. He gave a cheer and stumbled through the sand over to the board, crouching down to examine it.] Shiiiit. [Then glancing up, grinning like a kid who'd just found a box full of candy] What's it like, breathing fire?

[Blackout trotted after, and it was clear how excited he was. Part of it was that this body had effective offensive capabilities--the helpless sense of frustration that had seized him when the change had happened had mostly dissipated with the discovery--but part of it was that Eros took such delight in it as well. He loved seeing him look so happy, and his enthusiasm only bolstered, inflated Blackout's own.

He paused at Eros' side, dipping his head to sniff at the board.] Unusual. Feels sort of like...yelling. [He leaned against Eros again, wanted to feel him.] Like it should hurt, but it doesn't.
