Holiday Season in the Sullivan House of Madness
Christmas lights and midnight mass
Lawn figurines of gaudy crass
Shedding trees and ornaments
And what the hell is frankincense?
Nativities without the Christ -
Dear God, there’s been a Baby Jesus Heist!
Gifting bags and tree-trim mess,
And much too much togetherness
Champagne corks that fly with speed
Though alcohol we hardly need
A myriad of baked-up treats
Could force Kate Moss to over-eat
A cooking foray goes awry -
Again that champagne cork must fly!
The best china is all brought out
As food and laughs are spread about
Dessert takes up the largest part
Of this dinner-time caloric art
A nut-laced blend of food and fights
Merry Christmas to all on this wonderful night.
It's just kind of there. I didn't even use punctuation, which emphasizes how much "just there" it is.
In an admittedly belated response to Walsingfolk's tag, I shall proceed to list five of my idiosyncracies.
1.) I can't stand it when people touch my hair. Except for, like, three. And one of them has to, because she cuts it.
2.) I also can't stand the feeling that something's stuck to the bottom of my bare foot. It just.... Gahhhh.
3.) I hold doors for guys. And get into fights over my ability to do so.
4.) If someone's been in "my" area/room, I can tell in an instant just by the very slightest thing. It's actually kind of weird. But since this is a tag over weird habits, I guess that makes it exceptionally weird.
5.) According to Caroline (younger sister), I raise my eyebrows every time I take a bite or sip of something. Every time.
