CINCINNATI, Ohio -- May 18, 2005 -- The Cincinnati Mighty Ducks franchise has applied for and been granted a voluntary suspension for the 2005-06 AHL season due to a lack of an available NHL affiliate by the AHL Board of Governors.

"We want to thank our fans and sponsors for their support of Mighty Ducks hockey for the past eight seasons," Cincinnati president and CEO Pete Robinson said. "We look forward to returning in 2006-07 under a new name and with a new NHL affiliate."
