=awesome..
threw some shit in the car after class on Friday, started on the road to ATL. Stopped in Marietta on the way to see Rich, Lela and the kiddies. Ryan was there too(goofy mfucka), so it was a pretty nice visit. We ordered pizza, played with the crazy kids for a while( they are gettin humongous!). Andrew and Rich sang the kids a bedtime song on the guitar and we headed on to Alpharetta.(Lela and Rich have a pole in their bedrooom...i found that rather odd and disgusting..)Anyway, Got to Alpharetta and Chris, Katie, Jason, and some chick they called Monkey were already partying. We brought our own 24 pack to be nice...and commenced the drinking..for some reason my drinking abilites excel when I'm at Chris's..i don't know why..but anyway..I wuz keepin up with andrew, and thats normally impossible for me. Then I took a huge shot of whiskey and that kinda did it...I thought I was gonna puke and sat upstairs hovered over the toilet for a while..Jason walked by and said it was "the cutest thing he had ever seen?" haha..wierd guy...anyway..i ended up being able to stomach it..and..I remember dancing a jig with Justin...and booty dancin with Katie...and cuddlin with the doggies..and that Monkey chick teachin me Karate moves! so then I wake up in the morning and the fan is on in the hallway, Chris says "don't ask". You know what, im not even gonna tell this story right now...let's just say apparently we all did a lot of things we don't remember ;)
So we were all pretty hungover but ate some donuts and drank some water and we were ready ta go..went and had lunch at a place called Fat Matt's..amazing bbq! Was HOT as hell..but we watched a few bands play, some good, some kinda lame(i thought), hung out in the "cool zone". THe whole setup was pretty neat, there wasn't a whole ton of people there..so you could get right up on the stage whenever you wanted. Then after the shows, the bands would be just sittin there at a booth and you could go buy merchandise and get their autographs and whatnot...Not that they were incredibly famous bands but still...So we waited for Southern Culture to come on..and they were pretty awesome. I wasn't like a big fan or anything, but it was enjoyable. Katie got on stage and was dancin with the singer. After the show we were gonna camp..but it turns out the camping atmosphere wasn't all that great. We woulda had to set our tent up in the parking lot, and the showers seemed kinda nasty..I didn't really feel like bein stinky all weekend and waiting all day Sunday for the bands, so we decided to go back to Chris's for another night. We were all pretty exhausted and went to bed fairly early after watchin some football.
Slept in kinda late the next day..then went to Target, got some cash and a pink cooler to put some beeers in. We still had a lotta time to kill so we thought we could get some WH, and then we remembered we were near Dave, so we gave him a call and we went and picked him up at his dorm at Georgia Tech. So things started takin a lot longer than we expected, and by the time we were done with him,we were cuttin it pretty close. Show started at 6. so we were pushin it. Then we got lost. Prolly like 8 times. Atlanta is fucking crazy. We somehow passed the exit we were supposed to get off of..don't know how cause ALL of us were looking..but..thats Atlanta for you..and life..As we pulled up to the theater..we could hear the supersuckers playin..I thought Andrew was gonna cry, I really did. But yea so we ran outta the car, and made the last two fucking songs. Which were awesome too..but..it was pretty heartwrenching. My poor baby looked so sad =( We dealt though, and we even got a picture with Eddie Spaghetti(the lead singer), and some autographed posters. He told us thanks for TRYING to make the show...heh the funny thing was that the posters we got said "DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SEE THIS SHOW" at the bottom. sigh such is life tho..actually it turns out, my cousin's friend Lars was coming to see the show too, but couldn't make it because of a wreck on 85 (which is the way we would have been taking have we not tryed to take all those crazy directions) SO..we probably wouldn't have made it either way..but at least the way we took we caught at least one song. so its all good. they are comin back to ATL in October with Social D, so we will def. go to that to compensate! and leave like four hours early..
We were pretty bummed though after that and went back to the car and drowned our sorrows with some Keystone Light from our little pink cooler. Blue Oyster Cult was comin on next...and I was DETERMINED to have an amazing time..so I drank four or five , and by golly I did have an amazing time! Not that you need alcohol to have a good time at a show, but if you wanna turn a mediocre band into your favorite band in the world, four or five beers will do it for shuuure. They sang that Reaper song...so that was fun..some redneck had a cowbelll..
Anyway, that was the weekend-Supersuckers or not, it was a blast. If you read this I'm very sorry to have wasted yer time. Don't read it next time!
