Happy New Year

Announcement for all those in the cities this summer: I'm having a housewarming party for Danielle at her new apartment. Anyone have any suggestions for a good weekend? Maybe a Saturday night? Let me know!

Today Steve and Martha and Ross and I went to Valleyfair. I am exhausted and my feet are a little red, but beyond that it was an entertaining day. We went on the Wild Thing and thought it felt a little more rickety than we had remembered, but it was actually when we rode the Corkscrew that Martha got stuck in her seat, and on the Extreme Swings that Steve almost peed his pants. I thought the swings were fun, although they make these frightening "whoosh" noises.

Top Five Moments of the Day:

5. Singing and dancing with the children's entertainment show while waiting for our strip of pictures to be printed from the machine.

4. Talking to my mom about their new puppy, Promise, who came home today. Apparently she almost bit off Willy's willy when they first met. (Pictures to come. Of the new puppy. Not Willy's willy)

3. Being able to take off my wet pants after we got home. That was a relief.

2. The guy working at the Hy-Vee who talked to us in the same tone as you would say "Stay away from my man, you ho-bag." Although he was saying things like "We only have chocolate and maple with sprinkles." With a lisp. (Try it out loud, it sounds really funny)

1. My sister Martha screamed the loudest not when we were hanging at the top of the Wild Thing, not when we were floating in midair on the Swings, but when she saw the tiny waterfall we had to go through on the Flume. She screamed when she got soaked on Thunder Canyon too, but that was more of a sob...)

Hooray for Valleyfair. Hooray for coming home from Valleyfair and being safe and clean and warm and watching Steve play Internet poker. And having Arrested Development Season 1 Disc 2 available to watch. And being able to go and see Promise tomorrow.

Happiness is a warm puppy.
