MY STRANGE EMBRACE
You stepped into a room painted blue
Where the angel of twist
Siezed your torn wrists
And dangled your legs over a would-be dance floor.
The humming music shook your mind
Into yelling to all the martini glasses held to their lips,
The twitches in their cheeks
The blurring faces,
''I am not who you think me to be! I am poor!''
And you sent your chin sinking as the glow in
Your eye threatened to become no more.
But you were squeezed into another love feeling hug.
You shut your eyes and heard someone say
''There is too much nonsence in today's generation.
So kick up your heels and teach us all to play.
And so you did.
