I wish you all a very Blessed Beltane today, may your hearts be filled with passion and joy and fire burn brightly to guide you on your path.
Today has been a truly magical day, I was so blessed to be able to spend it with one of my best friends and fellow witch Lisa, celebrating the holiday with talking, joy and a lot of laughter. We ate in the garden in the beautiful sunshine and for our ceremony we burnt incenses (Gaia & Forest Lord), herbs and drank blessed water from Lisa's cauldron after she performed an amazing Great Rite.
Lisa has the most amazing little girl named Ava-Rose who joined in with us, a tiny little 2 and a half year old witch! She would hold the incense and herbs and say 'magic!' and 'lets do magic!' and she was the perfect little helper, breaking up herbs with me and popping them into my little fire. I told her all about the turning of the wheel of the year, how today we celebrate turning the wheel into Summer, and she sat and turned my mortar around and around. Watching her just made me melt, she is so funny and so sweet and full of excitement and mischief.
She also loved that we were drinking water from the cauldron and drank about two cauldrons worth herself! Lisa told me she'd never been able to get her to drink pure water before that, so for anybody with stubborn little ones, try a cauldron! Usually you would use wine for the cauldron, but Lisa is expecting another little one (I'm SO excited, she is one of the sweetest, best people I know!) and water is definitely more friendly when you have a very interested toddler 'doing magic' with you!
Our little helper Ava-Rose, here she was waiting for me to hand over that delicious water! Isn't she just the cutest?
I absolutely love these pictures, and I think this one is my favourite. Watching her drink from the cauldron was just so sweet, and it felt so perfect that there were three of us together.
Handing me the cauldron very, very carefully! She would hand it to me, let me have a drink and then exclaim "not too much!" before taking it back and having a big gulp.
Thank you so much Lisa for making this Beltane so special and wonderful, I had such a fantastic day ♥
