Rose sat on her bed, scrolling down on her Facebook page. It had been ages since she'd checked it, and so she had decided to go on. No more than three seconds had passed before she heard a crash, then a curse in a foreign yet familiar tongue. The Doctor.

Rose raced out of the room, eager to see what kind of trouble he'd gotten himself into this time. Upon entering the kitchen, she discovered that an explosion had happened. A very white, powdery explosion. The Doctor sat on the ground, his arms crossed, grumbling under his breath. Upon his head sat an empty sack of flour. Rose burst out laughing.

"Had an accident?" she asked through her giggles.

"Oh, it's funny, is it?" he replied sharply.

"Yeah, it is."

"Hmmph." He uncrossed his arms, then crossed them again, just for emphasis.

"So, what're you doing?"

"Well, if you must know, I was going to bake some cookies." Rose burst out laughing again.

"Cookies? You? Baking? You...baking...cookies?"

"What?!" the Doctor cried, throwing his arms up in exasperation. "A man can't make cookies when he pleases?"

"No, it's just...you...and baking. I though you 'didn't do domestic'."

"I don't. But as it turns out, I was baking them for you."

"For me? Why?"

"Because tomorrow's your birthday, that's why." Rose paused.

"No it's not."

"Yes it is."

"No, it's not."

"Yes, it is, Rose Tyler. I think I know your birthday."

"Mm?" Rose raised a questioning eyebrow. "Go on, then."

"April 27th. What now!" Rose giggled again.

"Don't... don't ever say that again."

"Sorry. BUT, I do know your birthday. So ha! I win!"

"Yeah, okay, fine, but it's not my birthday."

"Yes it is, Rose. Time machine, remember? I was planning on taking you to Earth on the 27th of April. So technically, it would be your birthday."

"Right. Fine, you win. But why cookies? Isn't it customary to bake a cake for someone's birthday?" At this, the Doctor nearly exploded.

"Cake?!" he asked. "Cake?! I just survived an almost-nuclear explosion and got covered in flour for you to ask me for cake?!"

"Okay, fine, I'll take the cookies."

"The hell you will! I'm not getting exploded on again for some stupid cake!"

"Alright, then, it's settled!"

"Right!"

"Good!"

"Great!"

Both of them paused. An awkward silence filled the room. Rose was the first to break it.

"So... erm... d'you... well, d'you need some help?"

"Rose," the Doctor said, as if he were explaining it to a young child. "You can't help me make the cookies, because they're for your birthday. It goes against tradition."

"So does not baking a cake," Rose retorted. The Doctor stared, stunned. "So, are you gonna let me help or not?"

"Alright, you win. Help if you want."

"Cool. So, what do I do first? Have you got the dough made, or did you just decide to open an extra sack of flour?"

"Yes, Rose, that's exactly what I did. I wanted to eat the flour by itself. Yup."

"Oi, sarcasm isn't very nice on my birthday."

"Sorry." He gave her a sheepish grin.

"You're so adorable."

"I know!"

"And so's your ego."

"Yes it is!"

Rose rolled her eyes, laughing.

Together they began to bake the cookies.

Martha sat in her room, reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. After hearing the Doctor speak so highly of it, she'd eventually decided to give it a try. That was before she knew it was over 500 pages long.

"Bloody book," she mumbled to herself. "Why can't it be 200 pages like, oh I don't know, a normal book?"

"Talking to yourself again, I see," came the reply from Donna Noble as she entered the room.

"Hey Donna. What're you up to?"

"Nothing. I'm bored silly. Though I'd come in here and rescue you from that monster you call a book."

"Thank you, my savior," Martha said dryly. "I owe you my life."

"So, how far in are you?"

"About 300 pages."

"Ugh. Too long, that book. Give it up."

"No, I'm gonna read it. The Doctor said the ending's beyond sad. He cried!"

"Him? Crying? Shocker."

"I know, right? But yeah. Hey, you should give it a go when I'm finished."

"I'll pass, okay? Nothing personal, I just don't have the attention span for that."

"Nor me." They both laughed. "So," Martha continued. "What're the Doctor and Rose up to?"

Just as she finished her sentence, the two of them heard a loud, high-pitched giggle come from somewhere down the hall. Both of them jumped up and ran out of the room, leaving Martha's abandoned book behind.

Upon entering the kitchen (which is where they found the giggle had come from), Martha and Donna exchanged knowing glances. For by the counter stood the Doctor and Rose, covered head to toe in cookie dough. The Doctor was busy licking the dough off Rose's nose, while she pressed the full bowl onto his head. Both were giggling hysterically.

Donna and Martha simply smiled, their hearts warmed by the utter cuteness if the situation. Finally, Donna spoke.

"This is what you've been doing?" she asked incredulously.

"Yup!" said the Doctor. "We're baking them for Rose's birthday!"

"Rose's birthday? How come I didn't know? It's the 27th, right? I wrote it down!"

"Relax, Donna," said Rose. "The Doctor just decided to take us to earth on the 27th to celebrate. And he wanted to bake cookies."

"Well," said Martha. "Seems to have gone a bit awry."

"Got that right!" said Rose as the Doctor licked dough off her cheek. "But I quite like it." Donna and Martha laughed.

"So, Rose, funny you should mention liking it." Donna smirked as she spoke. "Because we heard that cute little noise you made. From down the hall, actually. It was quite loud."

"What cute little noise?" asked the innocent Rose.

"That little high-pitched giggle," Martha offered. Rose paused, a huge grin plastered on her face.

"Erm, you see... well, that wasn't me." Rose smiled sheepishly, and the Doctor turned bright red.

Donna and Martha just laughed. And laughed.
