yeah. i had to leave for several reasons. school. my employer will not let me leave early three days a week for classes that start at 4pm as she did for me the first semester. oh yeah, and then there's my health. the overwhelming stress of 18 months working here and learning how to do my job by trial and error has taken a toll. now, just as i'm certain that i can handle any work place situation that may arise, i'm far too depressed to function effectively -- at work and in life. i'm able to take medical leave for my first semester of grad school. the grad school program allows for a one-time only, no-questions-asked medical leave with one year to complete assignments. what an enlightened organization. when i learned that i could salvage the semester, i wept. the unrelentingly unhealthy milieu of my workplace made such kindness unimaginable.
no, i don't have another job lined up yet. but i've some money set aside and, along with classes starting up again on the 12th, i will get a monthly stipend. this is definitely not a good time for human services job search in california. oh well. i'm a much happier human these days. wellbutrin and prozac also helps.
