My SADD score is: 5 I have a LOW DEPENDENCE
The SADD is a standardized alcohol abuse severity instrument. The scores are interpreted as follows: 1-9 = low dependence, 10-19 = medium dependence, and 20 or greater = high dependence.
LOW DEPENDENCE:
Scores in this range suggest that the symptoms of a serious alcohol abuse problem are not present. Drinking is moderate and negative consequences are minimal if present at all. Nonetheless, people who score toward the end of the range sometimes feel that their lives would be better if they gave up alcohol or cut down. How you responded to earlier items will help you determine which areas might need targeting. People who score in this range and want to become involved in treatment can do well with brief outpatient interventions or even appropriate reading materials.
