spring's son (HP; Remus/Sirius; PG)
For Remus's birthday on March 10, random and belated. More should be coming soon since I've been so inspired lately :)

it always rains in the spring.

mr. fenrir greyback looked at him hungrily on april 1, once. remus remembers going out to look at the stars - alone - and waking up the next morning aching all over with scars on his body and oh, how his mother cried.

on spring mornings the sun filters through the scarlet curtains and paints his eyes bright. and james and sirius rip the curtains open and jump into his bed to make sure he's awake, and sirius kisses his ear whenever james isn't looking, when he jumps up from the bed to sing the latest love song.

they got married in march, on st. patrick's day. sirius got so pissed that he forgot that james doesn't know and under the spring clouds he kisses remus, slightly off and slippery. it rains and lily looks dreadful about her ruined wedding and sirius presses his hand to the small of his back.

sirius always smells like spring storms. and remus always smelt the rain when he awoke.

he can't help but think. it wasn't spring when they died, was it.
(like leaves from the tree.)
